Proper Use

The Vortex and all of its parts shall never be considered, or used as an anchoring device. Only add loads of 150kG or less to ropes rigged through the Vortex. Be sure to rest The Vortex against the ``channel`` or `` bar`` in the direction of the pull of the anchors and always inspect the gratings suitability for the rigging application..

The Vortex Edge Management System is designed for use in the varying sizes & depths of steel & composite walkway grating & grid-mesh found on industrial & commercial work sites.

The Vortex has been designed for use with static & dynamic nylon rope as a physical barrier to assist in the protection of life supporting rope system from coming into contact with the sharp edges of steel & composite grating during normal use.

In the relative high risk environment of Industrial Rope Access & Rope Rescue, all ropes shall be rigged in such a way so as to avoid contact with potential hot, sharp or abrasive surfaces that threaten the integrity of the life supporting rope.

THE VORTEX

The Vortex Sharp Edge Management System is designed for use in varying sizes & depths of steel “Walkway Grating” & composite “Grid-Mesh” found on industrial & commercial work sites around the world.

The Vortex has been designed for use with nylon 7 natural fibre Ropes as a physical barrier to assist in the protection of life supporting rope systems from coming into contact with the sharp edges of steel & composite walkway grating during normal use.

In Industrial Rope Access, all ropes shall be rigged in such a way so as to avoid contact with potential hot, sharp or abrasive surfaces that threaten the integrity of the life supporting Rope Access system.

The Lifespan of The Vortex is 10yrs from manufacture date & 5yrs after first use, and entirely dependant on passing pre-use and regular inspections.

The Vortex shall only be used with nylon or natural fibre rope up to 15mm. The Vortex “rope channel” is an oval shape of 15mm x 16mm to accommodate the variable tags & markings of the many different types of equipment management systems.

The Vortex is not designed for use with the wire rope or steel cable of any kind.

The Vortex should not be used if the expected load on the Rope exceeds 150kg regardless of the angle of entry into the barrier.

The Vortex and all of its parts shall never be considered, or used as an an anchor. The Vortex is considered a robust barrier to a potential hazard and nothing more.
